FIND Orem

I had the chance to participate in FIND Orem last month and it was such a pick-me-up. I’ve always loved film and since I’m usually shooting digitally for school, it was refreshing to have an excuse to work with film. It has helped me slow down and really think about every single aspect of my photo before hitting the shutter. Film just feels right because it shows life as it really is. There’s nothing fake about it.

A dose of FIND is just what I needed. I’ve recently been feeling like there’s no way to find a niche for myself in the photo world, but Jon’s advice on photography and business had me walking away saying to myself, “You’ve got this!” Jon taught me to hustle and to respect myself as an artist. Never again will I undersell myself.

Paris Squared

Slowing but surely, I'm getting my Study Abroad scanned. It's such a fun surprise every time I get to finally see a snippet from this summer.

S'mores, SuperNintendo, missing teeth, trampolines... it all says "summer" to me.

Snowbird

Snowbird

From my first timid roll of Portra 160 on my Yashica, won at John Telford's retirement party. (Oh, how I will miss my Dumbledore!)

Bird was outside building this snowman with grandpa one morning over Christmas break and I ran out in a robe and high heels (the first shoes I could find) to snap this. :)

My niece, Alie, was baptized earlier this month and it was so fun to get together with family. That after party included some bread pudding that was to die for- I had to sit on the couch in agony for a half hour in order to recover. :)

Congrats, Alie!
